Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Kothari Partners is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2022

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.

There is no prior scope 3 emissions reporting, but we have managed to secure the below figures

and as this is our first year of reporting this will form the baseline moving forward.

Baseline year emissions:

EMISSIONS TOTAL (tCO2e)

Scope 1 8.005

Scope 2 3.362

Scope 3 -

(Included Sources)

Total Emissions 11.367

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon

reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 8.0 tCO2e by 2028.

This is a reduction of 29.62%

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or

implemented since the 2022 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these

schemes equate to 3.367 tCO2e, a 29.62% ge reduction against the 2022 baseline and the

measures will be in effect when performing the contract.

Some of the carbon reduction projects:

  • We have adopted LED/PIR lighting controls to the inside and outside of the building.

  • We have implemented a policy of reducing the heating system temperature by 10%, (eg the hot water system temperature has been reduced by 10degree Celsius).

  • We have implemented a policy of conducting 95% of meetings online via Zoom/Team/Google Hangouts rather than driving to meetings.

  • Overseas travel into Europe now has a rigorous investigation policy on travel methods to ensure minimal emissions. (If we can travel by train we will rather than aircraft)

  • We have installed a wood burner into the main area as a source of heat rather than using the heating system which allows us to control the temperature in one part of the building without having to waste heat in areas that are not being used.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

  • Installing solar PV panels.

  • Installing batteries so that we can store electricity to use in peak times.

  • Installing a air source heat pump system.

  • Installing rainwater harvesting systems.
